Big Sky Decon Hosts Governor Greg Gianforte for Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

BELGRADE, Mont. – Governor Greg Gianforte promoted Montana business, Kart Kleen, dba Big Sky Decon, endorsing the resilience of Montana’s economy and entrepreneurs. Gianforte applauded the innovation at the ribbon cutting for our decontamination business in Belgrade on Thursday.

On Thursday, June 27th, a new phase began for our Missoula-based company as we delivered our first Coolant Decontamination Unit (CDU) — a wheeled cart that filters, skims, and disinfects manufacturing machinery coolant. The CDU is set to revolutionize the manufacturing and machining industry.

“Congratulations to Big Sky Decon for innovation — Montana’s open for business,” Gianforte said. “The hero in our story is the entrepreneur because ultimately, without entrepreneurs, businesses don’t exist and without businesses, we don’t have jobs.”

The design and creation behind the CDU, Kevin Meyer, said “We have engineered the CDU to perform various functions such as skimming, decontaminating, eliminating odors, and maintaining coolant for various machines, including mills, lathes, drill presses, saws, and more. The CDU saves time and money by eliminating the need for extensive machine cleaning, coolant replacement, and the expense of outsourcing the removal of old coolant from your facility.” Big Sky Decon’s Coolant Decontamination Unit addresses the problem by neutralizing bacteria and cleaning the coolant, therefore extending coolant life, and eliminating the smell caused by contaminated coolant.

The CDU is not only beneficial to the environment, but it directly benefits the user or machine shop owner by decreasing coolant replacement costs, dumping costs, machine downtime, and labor hours for cleaning each machine. This combination of sustainability and efficiency positively impacts everyone involved.

This is not the only revolutionary product Big Sky Decon has in store, we offer high-quality decontamination equipment and professional decontamination services. Our Made in Montana company offers a variety of products and services to eliminate bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa in heavily trafficked areas like schools. To date, we have produced units to clean vehicle interiors, first responder gear, school equipment, and contaminated areas using their special UV light treatment.

Those products have been used across the state and regionally by multiple law enforcement agencies to over 200 K-12 schools.

Big Sky Decon plans to be a leader in the sanitation industry for many years to come and we will continue to be a growing Montana business that can generate more jobs and revenue for the State of Montana.

“Montana’s economy continues to grow, despite inflationary and workforce pressures brought about by President Biden’s policies,” Gov. Gianforte said. “It was great to visit Big Sky Decon in Belgrade to see some of the innovative technologies they are using. Thanks to our pro-business, pro-jobs policies, businesses, and entrepreneurs are creating new economic opportunities for Montanans.”
